FIFA World Cup Visitors Flock to KC BBQ Restaurants

Wearing Lionel Messi jerseys, visiting Buenos Aires native Gustavo Sosa and his friends got their first taste of KC ribs. His one word review? “Perfection.” As of June 18th, Q39 Chef Patrick says they have sold twice as much food as they normally do in the past few days. Many barbeque restaurants around the Kansas City metro have seen an increase in customers coming to town to watch and celebrate the world cup. The main difference between Argentina’s barbeque compared to KC’s barbeque is that Argentinian asado is typically cooked over an open fire while KC’s is usually slow cooked on a smoker and covered in spices and sauce.
